ANNOUNCING YOUR PREMIER TEAM COACHES FOR 2020

We say farewell and a massive thanks to coach BRENT PERRETT (Perry) who stands down after six years with our Premier team. You will be very much missed Perry but we hope to still see you on the sidelines and in the club house afterwards next season.

We welcome back MITCH WILLIAMS, Mitch is a former age-grade Welsh international player and has coached at the club for the last three seasons with the team he was coaching going to the final each of those three years, picking up two titles in the process. We sure hope you will help get us to our fourth final next season Mitch.

We also welcome back Player / Coach WARWICK LAHMERT (Wizz). Wizz is a former New Zealand and England 7s international player and current Taranaki Bulls player and works as a rugby development officer at the TRFU. Wizz suffered a nasty injury with the Taranaki Bulls team this season but is hopeful of putting on the boots again in 2020 and assisting the other Premier coaches in our bid to defend the title.

We welcome back to the club JOSH HAMILTON. Josh is a former New Zealand Heartland and Spotswood United Premier player. He has worked as a rugby development officer at the TRFU and returns to us from the role of Academy Manager at Northland Rugby.

We welcome into a coaching role MATTHEW GOODWIN. Matt hangs up the boots this season after more than 150 starts with our Premier team, most of which were as captain of the team. We look forward to having Matt’s vast experience and leadership for next season’s campaign.

We are very excited with the appointment of this panel of four very talented and motivated coaches whom are all looking forward to the season ahead.

Managing the Premier team in 2020 is the experienced management duo of JADE MORGAN and LEWIS EVANS. These two very loyal club guys have been well respected by previous Premier teams and we know that next season’s team will once again be in great hands.

The premier trainer is again JOSH COOPER from Redemption Strength & Conditioning / Olympus Gym. Josh is already deep into planning for the upcoming season to get the guys and girls game ready.

Coaches and managers of our Division 1, Division 2 and Colts teams are shaping up and we hope to announce these appointments very soon. We do have a few spots open however and we would love to hear from any interested people for roles with any of these three teams.

And lastly but not least, we are over the moon to announce that Spotswood United will be fielding a women’s team in 2020. Coaches for this team are RICHARD CORRY, THOMAS CARLEY and ISSAC GULLIVER with SONYA BEER and KAY KENDALL coming on board as managers.

What a year it shapes up to be.
